To share a secret that many of you already know... permanent, healthy weight loss is achievable, but it is not as simple as most advertising, internet sites,TV Doctors and magazine covers would suggest.
Most of us know what to do to lose weight. Most of us need help doing it .Changing eating and exercise habits can be a challenge.
Let's face it, it's a jungle out there. There is a "mine-field" of salty, sugary, and greasy foods....all carefully formulated by taste scientists working for "Big Food" to be cheap, quick, foodie/gourmet appealing, and gluten-free !
Most of us, along with the media, our family, coworkers, friends, and sometimes health care professionals blame the overweight person for their "failure" to have the the perfect weight, flat belly, etc. Yes, there is a large degree of self motivation and personal responsibility involved in losing and maintaining a healthy weight, but that is only part of the picture. There are genetic, cultural, emotional, energetic, and biochemical factors that also infuence one's weight, body shape, cravings, and nutritional needs. Obesity is now classified as a disease by the American Medical Association....a disease...not a character disorder.
